Family Camping Trip

So our friends, the Fishers, had a great idea to go camping or to the Outer-Banks, NC together in early June.  We surprisingly chose camping as we didn't want to drive very far and Jon didn't have a lot of vacation days to use.  We met up in Gettysburg, PA and had some great family and friend camping time.  Sadie, Bryer, Justin, and Chloe all had fun and seemed to be pretty happy with all the things we got to do.  The only thing we really didn't get to do was go swimming as it was pretty chilly after the first day.  Going on week-days and before school was out was definitely the way to go as we practically had the place to ourselves.
We got a 4-person cabin this camping trip and were saying how next time we'll use a 6-person tent; however, we had air conditioning, a fridge, heater, ceiling fan, light, electric, bunk beds, and a TV so I'm not sure we'll want to downgrade and go without it after all that (?).
The kids enjoyed relaxing on the porch swing of our cabin, throwing rocks in a little stream, playing at the camp park with a huge pirate ship and lots of sand, learning about chess, trying shuffle board, sitting in a cute kid cabin, playing with foam airplanes that Jenn brought, roasting marshmallows for smores, sitting by campfires, holding sparklers, getting ice cream, visiting a horse farm store (where the boys bought toy pop-guns), going to a huge chocolate store with lots of elephants outside, and eating meals at the campsite.  Given this was the kids' first camping trip they did pretty well.  Justin coughed through the night a couple times both nights and lost his teddy bear once but other than that they slept well.  Somehow Jon and I feel like we got little sleep though.
